I have been remiss both in linking and, in some cases, reading what the good guys and gals over at The Reb are writing. Apologies tendered.
This poor attempt at making up for my negligence will have to suffice for now…
-I just read a wonderful essay by Irish Cicero, owner and ringmaster over at WR. It is the story of what he went through as a young man who flirted with the Hive Mind and found liberation from a numbing mindset via a tough SOB former Sergeant.
-T.L. Davis has penned a very perceptive posting on the decline of French Society and this event’s connection to our own situation here in America. A highlight:
The French are in the midst of trying to get a handle on their budget deficits by increasing the year at which one might retire from 60 to 62 years old. This is the sort of thing they send out to you on a postcard in America, a nation where getting screwed by the government barely rates a yawn in today’s society. As they stand up for their right to lay around, the French seem determined to destroy the remainder of society on the way.
I hate to keep harping on the same theme too much, but there just doesn’t seem to be enough ways to say: We are broke and things are going to get bad. France is the warning, should you choose to recognize it as such. When there is a strain of entitlement as deeply rooted in a society as it is the French, even the slightest hint of reform is a cause for violent reaction.
As TL goes on to point out, we have a different attitude and outlook here. But I would remind you

-Hoh River Boy has a wake-up call for many on the Right who lack that fundamental understanding of who we are:
[Irish] Cicero’s point has been, and continues to be, that the Founders relied upon the type of human being they knew, not the kind that has developed. Whether or not you and I live to honor our heritage as Americans remains to be seen. But mark this well: there is an American heritage; there is an American conscience; there is an American duty, all of which perhaps stretch beyond your current understanding.
And it would be a useless and dangerous state that could not protect those things.
Which is where we are heading at ramming speed.
-Virgil Caine speculates on why the government is stockpiling ammunition. A highlight:
The narrative has been built. Anyone attempting to impede Leviathan is a prospective enemy and threat. Anytime now the G is going to exert itself against some individual or group who may or may not be a threat so they can make an example of them and teach the rest of you a lesson. We’ve been here before. Ol’ Billy Jeff Clinton found hisself in a bit of a jam just like comrade zero is in now with falling poll numbers, fierce opposition in congress and next thing ya know the rise of “right wing extremism” solved all his troubles. It’s coming. Take it to the bank….on second thought bury it in yer mattress…banks ain’t too reliable now day’s. Ya’ll didn’t think this was going to be all tea and cake now did ya? Stay alert, stay alive.
